yaaaaaaaaaawwwwwn....so tired
i've been in training all week to be what Georgia Tech likes to call a (insert quotation motion here) Peer Leader. basically, i live in a freshman dorm and pass along my vast knowledge of everything Georgia Tech to them and more or less make sure they don't go overboard now that they are loosed from the chains in which their parents held them tight.
yesterday's training dealt with suicide and depression. today's training concerned drugs and alcohol. everything they've been telling us all boils down to one simple statement: if something bad happens, tell your supervisor. now honestly, do they need to kill two weeks of my time telling me this? i think not.
and ya know what i could be doing during these two weeks? i could have gone with some friends on a most superb road trip. Atlanta to Washington DC, to Philadelphia, to New York, to Niagara Falls, to Toronto, to Cedar Point (labelled the best amusement park in the world), back to Philadelphia, and then back to Atlanta. what a truly awesome two weeks...that would be.
and my latest girlspacefriend? yeah, she went on the trip. her and a bunch of her friends. lucky. oh, and before they left, she decided she didn't like the space anymore, so she got rid of it...i didn't think that was a bad idea either :) so now i'm waiting for her to get back so we can go out to all the places i've been wanting to take someone, but never had the someone to take.
she's totally amazing. some of you may remember the quiz i took that determined my type. yeah, she totally fits it:

la la la....
so another year spent in the world of academia is about to commence. this should be the last one. i dunno. like monkey bookends, i'm moving into a freshman dorm after moving out of one four years ago. and it makes me think back on my freshman year, and the way things were, the way i was, how i've stayed the same, and most importantly how i've changed.
change is a funny thing...the way it makes things different and the way it jingles around in your pocket.
